Free Household Electronics Recycling

Jackson County Health Department sponsors the electronics recycling drop-off at Southern Recycling Center, 300 West Chestnut Street, Carbondale. Open Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Friday, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., and Saturday, 8:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m.

Electronic Items ACCEPTED include:

• Computers (desktop, laptop, & tablet)
• Monitors (CRT & flat screen)
• Printer, Fax, Scanner and Copy Machines
• Keyboards & Mice
• Typewriters
• Calculators
• Telephones, Cell Phones and Pagers
• Televisions
• Cable & Satellite Receivers

• Digital Converter Boxes
• Portable Digital Music Players
• VCR & DVD players
• Radios & Stereos
• Cameras & Camcorders
• Video game players
• Power Tools
• Answering Machines

Electronic Items NOT ACCEPTED include:

• Washers & Dryers
• Stoves
• Refrigerators
• Microwaves

• Fans
• Lamps
• Blenders

• Coffee Makers
• Smoke Detectors
• Vacuum Cleaners

NO ELECTRONICS (including parts) are available through this program for local reuse, refurbishment or resale.

If participants wish to recycle more than 10 items contact Kerri Gale, Recycling Coordinator, prior to dropping off items at the Southern Recycling Center in Carbondale.
